Rethinking sneakers from the ground up.
SOLK is built on shoe-making heritage and a bold vision: sneakers designed on purpose, built to last, and made to fade. Beautiful in their first life, generous in their second.
Ultimately harmless.
SOLK is the world’s first sneaker brand built entirely on biocircularity. That means we design every shoe with its whole journey in mind, from how it’s made to how it returns to nature.
What makes us different is simple: we bring craft, comfort, and beauty together with a system that ensures nothing harmful is left behind. Beautiful in their first life, generous in their second.
Compost-capable doesn’t mean fragile. Your SOLKs are built to stay with you, handle real life, and only fade when their journey is truly done.
Designed on purpose.
We created SOLK to be a catalyst for change in the footwear industry. Our mission is to make sneakers that people truly desire, but which are also fully biocircular. Sneakers that are crafted to be worn, loved, and returned to the earth without leaving a trace.
This isn’t about reducing harm. It’s about building a system where harm isn’t part of the equation.

The spark behind SOLK.
SOLK was founded by David Solk and Irmi Kreuzer, shoemakers with more than three decades of experience. Together, they created and produced millions of shoes for some of the biggest names in the industry.
But the question that changed everything didn’t come from inside the industry. It came from their daughter, standing in the heat of a schoolyard in Vietnam: “Why are sneakers made from plastic, and where do they go when people throw them away?”
“We had spent our whole careers making shoes, but in that moment we realized we couldn’t answer her. That silence was the start of SOLK.”
… David recalls. From that spark grew a new kind of brand, one that answers with every pair: style, comfort, and responsibility united in a system designed to fade.
